Recognisable before you read the name

A silhouette, a mascot, a stage detail or a symbol the fans know by heart. A figure gives that world a physical presence. It can accompany a release, join a collection or become the centrepiece of a collector’s box.

Custom figures, USB figures and bespoke logo USB drives have a special place at Merchly. Our experience with artists including La Mano 1.9 and SEB informs this approach: creating an object that belongs to the artist’s world, down to its proportions, colours and packaging.

Three formats. Three ways to tell the story.

  • The collectible figure: an original character or shape developed in three dimensions, with a considered pose, finish and base.
  • The USB figure: a sculpted object with integrated storage. The connector and opening mechanism are designed alongside its appearance and handling.
  • The logo USB drive: a drive shaped around a logo, monogram or symbol. The identity becomes the object itself.

From drawing to prototype

Start with visual references, an existing character or an idea we can develop together. We define the views, volumes, scale and details that need to remain legible in the finished object.

Materials and production methods depend on the shape, quantity and intended finish. A sculpted figure, an assembled object and a USB product each have different requirements. We agree the approval stages, prototype options and finishes before production.

A digital render sets the direction. Dimensions, colour references and a physical sample where included help you assess the real piece.

Plan what goes inside the USB

An album, artwork, a digital booklet or exclusive material: first decide what the object should contain and how fans will access it. Useful capacity, connector type, device compatibility and any preloading requirements belong in the brief.

Supply final files and a clear folder structure before the series is prepared. Checks should cover readability, the correct content and use on the intended devices. Function deserves the same attention as appearance.

Packaging is part of the piece

A rigid box, sleeve, window, fitted insert, card or edition number can extend the creative direction while protecting the object. Design the packaging around the product and its journey, from transport to the fan’s first unboxing.

An edition can stand alone or join a bundle with a CD, vinyl record or garment. Each component needs a clear role. A good box should also be straightforward to assemble, store and ship.

Build your edition with the Studio

Share the artist or project, visual references, object type, initial quantity, indicative budget and the date the products need to arrive. For USB versions, include connector, capacity and content requirements.

Development costs, quantities and timing are assessed for your creation. You can start with an open idea: we refine the shape, finish and packaging together.

Questions, answered.

Can you turn our character into a figure?

Yes. Share the references and details that matter. The Studio assesses how to translate them into a physical object, including finishing, manufacturing requirements and packaging.

How does a USB figure differ from a logo USB drive?

A USB figure integrates storage into a character or sculpted object. A logo USB drive follows the shape of your symbol or monogram. Connector type and functionality are defined with the Studio in both cases.

Can the USB be preloaded and supplied in a collector’s box?

We can assess these options within the same project. Share the files, capacity, target devices and box contents so the quote and approval stages cover them.

What are the minimum order and lead time?

They depend on the design, production method, quantity and required approvals. The Studio confirms the terms and delivery date in your quote before production starts.
